The State of Connecticut's Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) seeks an Electrical Trade Instructor for Platt Technical High School in Milford. Salary is VS01–VS02, derived from the State Vocational Federation of Teachers. The school calendar runs ten months (188 days/year) with a first shift, full-time schedule (35 hours/week).

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut teaching certificate (090 or DSAP)
• Minimum of eight (8) years of hands-on electrical experience
• Formal training credit allowed for coursework related to electrical trades
• Eight (8) years experience required for each subject area
• Current OSHA 10- General Industry certification
• E-1 electrical contractor license required at time of application
• CT CDL with proper endorsements required to operate CT ETV
• OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification within two years of employment

Responsibilities

• Educate students in academic and electrical technology coursework.
• Develop and design lesson and unit plans.
• Deliver instruction aligned with the National Electrical Code and CT standards.
• Support student engagement, provide tutoring and counseling.
• Maintain classroom records and collaborate with colleagues and industry partners.
