A rapidly growing electrical power services organization is seeking a NETA II Certified Electrical Testing Technician to support utility substation commissioning, acceptance testing, and maintenance testing projects across multiple locations. This position is ideal for an early-career to mid-level technician looking to expand their experience in power systems testing while working alongside experienced NETA III and NETA IV professionals.

Locations
Travel opportunities are available, with the Virginia office particularly open to travel technicians. Most technicians work primarily within their home state but may travel based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform acceptance testing and commissioning of electrical power equipment under the guidance of senior technicians and project leaders.
- Conduct maintenance testing and troubleshooting on energized and de-energized electrical systems.
- Execute electrical testing procedures in accordance with NETA standards and client specifications.
- Assist with testing and evaluation of medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment, including:
- Switchgear
- Transformers
- Circuit Breakers
- Protective Relay Systems
- Control Systems
- Collect and document test data for analysis and reporting.
- Assist with utility substation commissioning and startup activities.
- Prepare and submit accurate field reports and testing documentation.
- Maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams, customers, and field personnel to support successful project execution.
- Support senior technicians during outage, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Current NETA II Certification
- Experience performing electrical testing on power systems and electrical equipment.

- Basic understanding of electrical power systems and testing methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Utility or substation testing experience.
- Experience with switchgear, transformer, and breaker testing.
- Exposure to protective relay testing.
- Experience supporting commissioning projects in industrial, utility, commercial, or data center environments.
- Associate degree, technical training, or military electrical experience preferred.

Interview Process
Typical process includes:
- Virtual interview with an Operations Manager
- Team interview with a senior technical leader or regional manager
Most interviews are conducted virtually and last approximately one hour. Texas-based candidates may be asked to participate in an in-person interview depending on project needs.
