Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is seeking an Electrical Testing Associate-2nd shift in Syracuse, NY. This position focuses on wiring and wired assemblies, performing functional testing, and supporting engineering and quality teams to ensure products meet specifications.

You’ll work from schematics, use test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, verify BOMs, and collaborate across supervision, planning, and maintenance to sustain released builds and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Job description

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Electrical Testing Associate-2nd shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $37.57+$1.50 shift differential per hour.

What You’ll Do

Promote Quality and Engineering’s best practices in regard to wiring and wired assemblies in the department and ensure standard wiring practice and designs are followed. Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to ensure functional testing of wired components and ETO wired assemblies are completed. Support programming and troubleshoot to ensure proper functionality in accordance with Engineering and Quality. Collaborate with Supervision and Planning to execute released builds in a timely, orderly manner. Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and functioning. Verify wiring and components are accurate per BOM’s and Schematics, determine proper type and size wire to be used with various amperages when not specified on drawings. Operate hoist or other lifting device as needed to perform job functions. Assemble mounting plates or frames; assemble and wire starters, relays, transformers, switches, circuit breakers; assemble electrical details to housings; GFI and hot test GFI; affix operating shafts, bearing and indicating plates; fit and adjust outer operating controls as prescribed. Check work for proper explosion-proof specification as prescribed; detect and segregate faulty material. Perform drilling and/or tapping operations as required with portable and hand tools such as electric drill, pneumatic or hand screwdriver, hammer, etc. Perform a variety of similar or associated duties including those of clerical nature as required or directed. Call Maintenance Control for repairs or refer to Supervision for assistance with Work Orders. Document errors found in drawings, production orders or other paperwork used to produce customer orders and recommend engineering changes and improvements. Refer all quality findings to Group Leader, Supervision, and other associated Quality personnel.

Qualifications
  • 3 years experience.
  • Work from schematics, prints, drawings, etc.
  • Following prescribed and standard safety regulations.
  • Testing equipment proficiency (multimeters and oscilloscopes).
Skills
  • Electrical theory & systems knowledge: understanding of power systems, signal integrity, EMC/EMI, voltage/current measurement, and load testing.
  • Test equipment proficiency: multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, signal generators, video analyzers, HDMI/4K test tools.
  • Software & tools: LabVIEW, Arduino, Python, Jira, Jama, or other enterprise test management tools.
  • Safety & compliance: knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and other relevant codes.
  • Problem-solving & analysis: ability to interpret test results, troubleshoot faults, and suggest corrective actions.
