Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking an Electrical Technician for final inspection and functional testing of a wide range of Eaton products prior to shipment. You will develop and execute test plans, perform electrical testing, and document repairs as needed.

Responsibilities include interpreting diagrams and procedures, troubleshooting failures, and ensuring quality compliance while maintaining records and adhering to safety standards at the Greenwood, SC facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electrical circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Relocation not offered; candidates must live within 50 miles of Greenwood, SC.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Set up, inspect, and test equipment per instructions and specs.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence testing of panels and components.
• Troubleshoot test failures and determine root causes with cross-team collaboration.
• Validate orders and support customer inspectors during testing and inspection.
• Maintain test equipment, calibration status, documentation and records.
• Follow safety guidelines and PPE requirements.

Job description

The starting rate for this position is $27.00 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm until 1:00 am.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Electrical Technician is responsible for final inspection and functional testing of Eaton products to ensure quality and compliance prior to shipment. In this role, you will develop and execute test plans, conduct electrical and electronic testing, and inspect components and connections across a wide range of products, including structures, units, panels, panelboards, controls, and assemblies. You will confirm proper functionality, diagnose and resolve issues, and document or complete required repairs. Success in this position requires the ability to accurately interpret diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and engineered test procedures.

• Interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, drawings, and specifications to set up, inspect, and test equipment
• Perform mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence testing; inspect panels, assemblies, and components to verify quality and functionality
• Troubleshoot test failures, determine root causes, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and supervisory teams on corrective actions
• Validate customer orders for accuracy and completeness; support customer inspectors during testing and inspection processes
• Recommend and assist with improvements to assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing methods; ensure required changes and repairs are completed
• Maintain test equipment, calibration status, test documentation, and inspection records
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, hygiene standards, and housekeeping practices

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex electrical circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Relocation is not offered for this position. Candidates must live within a fifty-mile radius of the Greenwood, SC facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least one (1) year of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Previous experience working with open and energized electrical equipment in a testing environment.
