CEL Critical Power Ltd. in Virginia seeks an internal Test Technician to ensure our power distribution hardware meets quality and performance standards.

You will perform functional, electrical and mechanical testing on LV switchgear assemblies and document results for stakeholders. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, safety compliance, calibration of test equipment, collaboration with design and production, and contributing to continuous improvement within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electrical power distribution or related field.
• +3 years' experience working in an Electrical Testing role is desired.
• Familiar with UL, NEMA, ANSI, NETA, and NFPA 70E.
• Experience in product testing, inspection and quality audits.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools for identifying trends and discrepancies.
• Experience working within a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Expertise in power distribution products such as switchgear, switchboards, PDUs, RPPs.
• NFPA 70E certification is preferred but provided by CEL.
• Knowledge of industry standards UL891, UL62368-1, UL508A, UL67, UL1008, UL1008S, UL1558.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and multitasking capability.
• Professional communication skills suitable for interfacing with customers.

Responsabilités

• Perform functional, electrical and mechanical tests on LV switchgear assemblies.
• Verify wiring, torque settings and component installation against engineering drawings.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity and operational checks per test procedures.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to decide testing requirements.
• Participate in our customer FAT / FOK / FWT processes.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical issues found during testing.
• Complete detailed test reports and maintain accurate records of results for relevant stakeholders.
• Report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis.
• Operate and maintain test equipment e.g. multi-meters, insulation testers, high-potential testers.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with electrical safety standards and company procedures.
• Use appropriate PPE and follow lockout / tagout protocols during testing.
• Capture data on repeated failure modes to the Production / Supply Chain team to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with production, project management and engineering.
