Job summary

Innomotics is seeking an Electrical Test Technician I to test VFDs, subassemblies and components, and assist with assembly of systems. Reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and works on FAT tests and QA tasks.

You will operate test equipment, follow safety policies, read engineering drawings, and maintain a clean 5S workspace. Requires an Associate degree in Electronic Technology and strong problem-solving, math, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, hi-pot tester, DMM, and clamp-on CT.
  • Ability to read engineered drawings, wiring schematics and BOM.
  • Safety policies and PPE usage required.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate product functionality to predefined test criteria using various test equipment.
  • Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Assist EET-II/EET-III with wiring, energizing final products at low/medium/high voltage.
  • Perform FAT testing and preventative maintenance on test equipment.

We are looking for an Electrical Test Technician I (1st & 2nd Shift) to join our team at Innomotics. ($1500 Sign On Bonus)

Hours: Monday - Thursday 3PM to Midnight; Friday 10AM to 2PM

Your Future Role

The Electrical Engineering Technician I [EET-I] will test variable frequency drives, subassemblies, various components and equipment. In addition, the EET-I will also be responsible for assembly of the various systems and sub-assembly products. The position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineering Technician I will be responsible for demonstrating product functionality to pre-defined test criteria and utilizing various test equipment. Also responsible for:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and properly utilize all PPE.
  • Assist EET-II and EET-III with connection and energizing of final product with low, medium, and high voltage.
  • Complete standard system Factory Acceptance Test [FAT] testing.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance of electrical testing equipment and systems.
  • Perform wiring, cable prepping, and assembling as per the wiring diagrams. Read and understand all related drawings including, but not limited to, assembly drawings, bill of material, test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot with assistance from EET-II and EET-III utilizing test results, schematics, and drawings.
  • Perform in-process inspection on product during assembly process.
  • Maintain safe, clean and orderly work area by utilizing 5S practices and participate in Lean initiatives.
  • Support assembly of the various systems and sub-assembly products.
  • Lift and position products to precise location using overhead cranes and other material handling devices (i.e., power jack, fork truck). Move/position product as required.
  • May be required to perform other duties in multiple buildings as requested, directed or assigned.
Your Profile
Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Required Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent.
  • Test equipment knowledge specifically but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, High Potential Tester, Digital Multi-Meter, and Clamp-on Current Transformers.
  • Experience utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities from engineered drawings, wiring schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Safely utilize ladders and scaffolding to work at heights above waist level.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced math and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Advanced computer skills.

The pay range for this position is $22.76 to $28.55. The shift differential for working second shift is $2.50. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
