Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as an Electrical & Test Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This paid undergraduate internship offers hands-on experience with engineering staff and real-world projects in a development environment.

Interns participate in a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and may contribute to a 401(k) with company match. Mentors guide progress across Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Manufacturing, and Test disciplines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate engineering degree
• GPA 3.0 or above
• Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
• Knowledge of basic engineering tools relevant to discipline
• Preferred junior or senior year student
• Knowledge of 3-phase power systems, power electronics, control systems, switchgear, motors, mg sets, electronics packaging, energy conversion a plus

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic work instructions to learn fundamentals of the company
• Conduct limited scope testing under supervision of engineers
• Complete assigned tasks on time
• Gather and assemble data for engineers
• Assist in research in assigned functional area
• Conduct design analysis and calculations under supervision
• Support engineers with design details
• Perform various tasks to gain familiarity with engineering staff and practices
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as anElectricalEngineering Intern! Our internships are hands on, highly technical, and designed to let you see what it's like to work at Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems. This is apaidsummer undergraduate intern opportunity. Engineering interns work closely with and assist our Engineering staff with various assignments and projects. Our Summer Intern Program consists of at least 10 weeks of real world experience in an engineering development environment.

In addition to Electrical Engineering, we offer assignments in Mechanical, Systems, Software, Manufacturing, and Test. Mentors are assigned to assist interns in achieving engineering related career development that is of mutual benefit to the intern and DRS.

What You Will Do

Education & Experience Requirements

• Current accredited college or university enrollment; making progress towards an undergraduate degree in the relevant engineering field
• Grade point average of 3.0 or above
• Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
• Basic engineering tool knowledge relevant to discipline
• Preferable to someone entering the junior or senior year
• Knowledge of 3-phase power systems, power electronics, control systems, switchgear, motors, mg sets, electronics packaging, energy conversion, etc. a plus
