Job summary

Crown Technical Systems in Fontana, CA, is seeking a Test Engineer to join our team. You will support testing for relay panels, control buildings, and MV switchgear, coordinating with Production Leaders and Engineering to meet project needs.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the role requires hands-on AC/DC testing, 2–4 years of experience, and strict adherence to testing procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Hands-on experience performing AC/DC functional testing on protection relays, MV switchgear, MV breakers, and arc flash.
• 2–4 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of testing three-phase AC and DC power distribution circuits and troubleshooting.
• Ability to follow Crown/Customer testing forms and IEEE guidelines.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains testing schedule per project and production schedules with Production Leaders and Engineering.
• Monitors testing status and gathers feedback from test technicians.
• Reviews project specs and implements testing procedures to meet requirements.
• Prepares test plans, reports, drawings, and test pictures.
• Performs power testing of relay panels, MV switchgear line-ups, and associated components (HMI, cables, etc.).
• Drives quality improvements and ensures safety and testing standards are followed.
• Supports Lead Engineer and assists with related project tasks.
