Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a Senior Battery Test Technician to support powertrain and electronics testing in our San Carlos facility. You will work with Test Engineers to assemble, maintain, and operate in‑house test rigs, install instrumentation, and contribute to verification of battery modules, packs, and charge ports.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in high‑voltage, high‑power battery testing, experience with cyclers like Neware and Arbin, and know‑how in LabVIEW.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in battery testing or related field.
• Experience with high voltage/high power battery systems.
• Experience with cyclers (e.g., Neware, Arbin).
• Knowledge of thermocouples and voltage/current sensing.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW and NI hardware.
• ASE Certification or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, maintain, and operate in‑house test rigs, stands and fixtures.
• Install instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Support test engineers with battery module/test setup and acceptance tests.
• Build wiring harnesses and perform soldering for test setups.
• Run validation and reliability tests per approved test plans.
• Maintain clean workspaces and document procedures.
