Electrical Test Engineer

12 month contract

On-site in Newton, MA

Position Summary:

The Electronic Test Engineer will be part of the R&D organization, contributing to the development of the next-generation robotic platform aimed at transforming healthcare. The role involves hands-on work with complex electro-mechanical assemblies, from prototype to verification within a regulated medical device environment. Responsibilities include detailed testing of electronic printed circuit boards, troubleshooting electronic issues, soldering and reworking PCBAs, constructing prototype cables/harnesses, and updating eCAD libraries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate on creating and refining test cases and environments
2. Execute PCB tests for design verification and characterization
3. Perform soldering reworks and assemble test harnesses
4. Debug electronic issues and identify root causes
5. Construct cables and harnesses for testing
6. Support repairs and updates to prototype robotic systems
7. Document work in accordance with EVR quality system
8. Maintain and update eCAD part libraries

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years experience testing electronics
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field; associate’s degree with experience acceptable
• Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices or aerospace is preferred
• Proficiency in evaluating at least three of the following: Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, BISS-C, motor control
• Hands-on testing experience required
• Deep understanding of PCBA testing during design verification is highly desirable
• Excellent soldering skills and experience
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Fundamental knowledge of electronics is a plus
