Job summary

Tidewater Community College (TCC) serves South Hampton Roads with campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach. The adjunct faculty member teaches Electrical Technology courses, delivering instruction in classroom, remote via Zoom, or online environments to a diverse student body, and provides prompt, thorough feedback to support learning outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Technology or related field, or an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.
Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.
Two years or related work experience.

Responsibilities

Create a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in a discipline and/or program.
Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies.
Deliver instruction to support learning outcomes and assess student progress in person or online.
Possibly teach during day, evening, and/or weekend as assigned.
Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned.
