Job summary

Virginia Spaceport Authority (MARS) is seeking a skilled electrical technician on a full-time basis at Wallops Island, VA. Responsibilities include supporting electrical maintenance across all MARS facilities, launches, and airfield to maintain readiness.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, technical training, and NASA Level 1 High Pressure Operator certification; forklift and lift certifications are required per policy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required; technical training from an accredited school or military training is preferred.
  • Experience with maintenance, alteration, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC, and related systems.
  • Must have or be able to obtain NASA Level 1 High Pressure Operator certification.
  • Formal training and certification for fork-lift, scissor lift, and boom-lift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and execute field direction for maintenance, alteration, repair, launch prep, and post-launch tasks.
  • Attend formal trainings to pursue required certifications.
  • Support alternate shifts during missions and customer requests.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Provide input for upgrades including design, tooling, and training.
  • Operate ground support equipment as required (fork-lifts, lifts, tractors).
  • Communicate delays and needs to Technician Supervisor or Lead.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
