Nationwide Technical Search seeks an experienced Electrical Technician for our Sterling, IL facility. This onsite role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment across heavy manufacturing operations.

You will work to minimize downtime by troubleshooting PLC/drive systems, wiring, controls, and overhead crane equipment. The position requires 5+ years of maintenance electrician experience and the ability to read schematics and work with CMMS

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance electrician experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use testing equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs, analog circuits, sensors, and VFDs.
• Capable of independent work or cross-functional teams with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Electrical Diagnostics & Repair: diagnose, repair, assemble, calibrate motors, generators, panels, relays, breakers.
• Automation & Controls: interpret diagrams, trace circuits, evaluate programming, troubleshoot PLCs, analogs, and VFDs.
• Crane & Mechanical Maintenance: repair overhead cranes; use crane signals, rigging, and mobile equipment.
• Installation & Fabrication: wiring, pipe bending, threading, welding, scaffolding as needed.
• Documentation & Safety: log CMMS data, maintain logs, mark up drawings, follow Lockout/Tagout safety policies.
• Work Demands: provide own tools; stand on 12-hour shifts; work in extreme temps; climb ladders; lift up to 50 lbs.
