Job summary

Tension Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Technician to support and improve our high-speed envelope folding and production equipment. This hands-on role emphasizes troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.

You will work with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and automation systems, read electrical schematics, and participate in upgrades across multiple plant locations, with occasional travel. A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong troubleshooting of electromechanical systems and automated equipment.
• Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, hydraulic prints, and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control system issues on manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and electrical control systems, primarily Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Support upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, hydraulic prints, and mechanical drawings.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performance.
• Support electrical systems across multiple plant locations, including occasional travel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, UL508A, and Lockout/Tagout safety standards.
• Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities accurately.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
