Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Electrical Technician Instructor to deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction on electrical systems, safety, and industry practices.

Licensed electricians, electrical technicians, maintenance electricians, and skilled trades professionals are encouraged to apply; no prior teaching experience is required, as AIM provides a 5-day paid instructor training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of hands-on electrical trade experience or 3+ years teaching electrical programs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication focused on student engagement.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab settings.
• Deliver instruction aligned with industry standards, codes, and workforce expectations.
• Instruct students on the proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment with OSHA safety emphasis.
• Create a positive classroom and lab environment that supports engagement and retention.
• Maintain and update lesson plans, materials, and lab activities with program leadership.
• Monitor and document student attendance, progress, and performance per guidelines.
• Enter grades and required documentation into school systems on time.
• Ensure classrooms and labs remain clean, safe, and well-equipped; report needs as needed.
• Support student success through coaching, mentoring, and proactive engagement.
• Participate in required training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings.
