Job summary

AIM is actively seeking an Electrical Technician Instructor to train the next generation of electricians and technicians. You will deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction on electrical theory, wiring, safety, and industry practices, leveraging real-world experience to mentor students.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years hands-on experience in the electrical trade OR 3+ years teaching experience in electrical programs.
  • Strong understanding of electrical tools, systems, codes, and safety practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication for student engagement.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Positive and professional attitude focused on student success.

Responsibilities

  • Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab.
  • Deliver instruction aligned with codes and workforce expectations.
  • Instruct on safe use of tools and equipment per OSHA standards.
  • Create a positive classroom and lab environment to support engagement.
  • Maintain and update lesson plans and lab activities with program leadership.
  • Monitor attendance and academic progress; enter grades and docs in school systems.
  • Ensure classrooms and labs are clean, safe, and well equipped.
  • Support student success through coaching, mentoring and engagement.
  • Participate in training, in-service sessions and staff meetings.
  • Stay informed of industry advancements and maintain certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Campus Leadership.
