Job summary

AIM seeks an Electrical Technician Instructor to train the next generation of electricians at our Manassas campus. You will teach in both classroom and lab settings, covering electrical theory, wiring methods, safety, and industry practices.

Ideal candidates hold 4+ years hands-on electrical experience or 3 years teaching, with strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office. Full-time, with paid training and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years hands-on electrical trade experience or 3 years of teaching electrical programs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical tools, systems, codes and safety practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for student engagement.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized, dependable and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab.
• Deliver instruction aligned with industry codes and workforce expectations.
• Instruct on proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment including OSHA procedures.
• Create a positive classroom and lab environment supporting engagement and retention.
• Maintain and update lesson plans and lab activities with program leadership.
• Monitor attendance, progress, and performance; enter grades on time.
• Ensure classrooms and labs are clean, safe, and fully equipped; report needs.
• Support student success through coaching, mentoring and engagement strategies.
• Participate in training, in-service sessions and staff meetings to stay current.
