Job summary

InCharge Energy is hiring an Electrical Technician III to support service needs at the local InCharge Office, reporting to the Service Manager. You will run conduit, wiring, install and service electrical systems for EV charging, solar, and battery devices across regional sites.

The role requires 3–6 years of electrical construction experience, strong code knowledge, and the ability to travel 50–75%. Procore proficiency and safety certifications are valued as you deliver high-quality turnkey

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
  • Permit and code compliance knowledge.
  • OSHA 10 and/or 30 Card required or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
  • ECAP certification or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
  • Travel up to 50-75% for field assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Run conduit, wire, install and service electrical systems in commercial/industrial settings.
  • Install and commission EV charging systems, solar and battery infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and field teams for site installations.
  • Create and maintain documentation in Procore and Salesforce.
  • Maintain safety standards and ensure timely, quality field work.

Job description

InCharge Energy is seeking an Electrical Technician III to support the service needs of its customers.The technician will work at the local branch InCharge Office, reporting to the Service Manager. Key aspects of the work include running conduit, wiring, installation, service, commissioning and regularly scheduled maintenance for electrical infrastructure, EV charging devices, solar and battery devices. The role requires significant regional travel with a focus on ensuring a timely and customer-centered turnkey delivery experience. Key objectives include maintaining safety standards and timely completion of high-quality field installation work, EVCS Commissioning and field support.

What You’ll Do
Electric/Infrastructure Duties
  • Intermediate understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and local regulations.
  • Performing accurate calculations for circuits, panels, and service loads.
  • Panel Work: Installing breakers, labeling circuits, and understanding load balancing greater than 600 amps
  • Installation of emergency drivers, contactors, time clocks and troubleshoot EMS systems.
  • Perform infield installation of civil and electrical infrastructure including running conduit and wire, trenching and associated civil work, and other in field activities.
  • Wiring buildings and electrical systems (commercial, industrial), installing lighting, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and panels, setting up electrical equipment, transformers, and generators
  • Support multi-person work assignments and EPC-related field activities through hands‑on assistance with installation and maintenance tasks
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues, repairing or replacing faulty wiring, fixtures, or equipment, performing outline inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Retrofitting older systems to meet current standards, upgrading panels or service capacity, installing energy-efficient systems (LED lighting)
  • Assist in the coordination of third-party vendors for installations
Specialty Equipment Maintenance and Service
  • Perform preventative maintenance by inspecting, testing, and maintaining EV charging systems as well as electrical infrastructure to ensure performance and uptime
  • Installation, Commissioning, service and support for all EV Charging systems, AC and DC for which the technician is certified
  • Perform bolt-downs and infrastructure‑related field work to support site installations and upgrades
  • Basic understanding in civil and construction work
  • Installation, Commissioning, service and support for Solar and battery systems and infrastructure for which the technician is certified
  • Repair maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical charging infrastructure using skills and tools that range from computer diagnostics to basic electrical tools
  • Measure charging infrastructure performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Workflow, Documentation and Training
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project, Work Order and Job documentation in Procore, Salesforce and other documentation systems
  • Follow all safety standards, site requirements, and company procedures
  • Participate in training programs to build technical competency and advance within the technician career path
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete work efficiently and effectively
  • Shadow and assist with lower tier technicians to share knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, electrical safety and workflows and specialty equipment as well as best practices in customer service delivery
  • Represent the company at client locations with the highest standards of professional conduct
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Your Experience and Capabilities
  • 3-6 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings
  • Permit and code compliance knowledge
  • OSHA 10 and/or 30 Card required or ability to obtain in 120 days of hire.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in an applicable technical field is desirable
  • ASE or other applicable certifications are desirable
  • Commercial Driver’s license or ability to obtain is highly desirable
  • ECAP certification (internal requirement) or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire
  • Adaptable to the changing dynamics of start-up business strategy
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and able to operate independently with limited supervision (completing assigned work accurately and in a timely manner)
  • Proficiency with Procore, or equivalent software a plus
  • Ability to Travel 50% - 75%
US Hourly Range

$35 - $43 USD
