Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrates critical thinking and reasoning skills.
• High School diploma or equivalency.
• High School level language (writing/speaking/listening) and mathematical skills.
• 1-4 years of prior Electrician experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans new or modified installation to minimize waste of material.
• Provide access for future maintenance and ensure safe wiring per codes.
• Prepares sketches or follows diagrams ensuring concealed wiring before walls/ceilings/flooring.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, and installs conduit using hand tools.
• Pulls wiring through conduit with assistance.
• Splices wires and connects wiring to fixtures and equipment.
• Installs switches, relays and panels with screws/bolts.
• Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
• Tests circuits for safety using testing instruments.
• Observes equipment operation and plans adjustments or replacements.
• Gathers information and data; assists in mentoring others.
