R&P Technologies is seeking a marine electrician/technician level I for a full-time position involving installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment onboard US Navy ships in San Diego, CA. The role involves assisting with electrical cabling, building connectors, installing hardware, and troubleshooting various systems. Safety is paramount, and candidates must be responsible and attentive to safety procedures. Prior shipboard experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installations for systems such as lighting, power supply, audio/video, antenna, etc.
• Install electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment
• Install safety and distribution components like switches and circuit breakers
• Connect wiring using MIL-SPEC connectors
• Pull cables of various lengths and sizes
• Work shipboard availabilities with a small crew

Qualifications

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition; able to lift 50 pounds
• Willingness to travel for ship maintenance
• Flexibility with scheduling due to Navy movements
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Ability to obtain and maintain Navy security credentials
• Valid Security Clearance or ability to qualify for one
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• U.S. citizenship
• OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain
• Punctual and reliable
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 40 hours plus weekends if needed
