Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Houston is seeking an Electrical Technician I to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems under general supervision. The role supports facility maintenance and service delivery across production environments, focusing on safety, reliability, and efficiency.

You will install lighting, perform breaker resets, inspect power distribution, and maintain primary service installations. Basic electrical knowledge, tool use, and computer proficiency required; AutoCAD experience

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required; Journeyman Electrician certification preferred.
• Knowledge of predictive and preventative electrical maintenance functions.
• Knowledge of electrical machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Proficient computer skills; AutoCAD experience a plus.
• 0-5 years experience performing basic electrical repair and installation.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, install lighting.
• Ability to prepare, install and connect electrical wiring.

Overview

Under general supervision the Electrical Technician I is responsible for electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Installs and replaces lightbulbs
• Perform breaker resets, ballast and electrical wiring
• Inspects and maintains primary service installations and power distribution systems
• Follows basic electrical safety practices such as lockout/tagout procedure
• Completes work orders and paperwork related to job tasks
• Performs duties in accordance with departmental and regulatory safety procedures and standards

• HS Diploma or equivlant, Journeyman Elctrician certification is highly preferred
• Knowledge of predictive and preventative electrical maintenance functions
• Knowledge of electrical machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

Physical Demands

• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
