Job summary

General Matter is seeking an Electrical Technician to support design validation, prototyping, and production of microelectronics, panels, actuators, and power system assemblies.

You will assist with first builds, testing, trials, and rework of critical instrumentation and control systems in a fast-paced startup setting. The role requires hands-on electrical skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalency.
• Understanding of basic electronic theory.
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting.
• Skilled with mechanical hand tools.
• 2+ years of hands on work experience.
• Creative approach to problem solving, with willingness to learn and try new things.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble high-quality and reliable wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Read, interpret, and work from drawings and controlled documentation and processes.
• Perform verification of hardware, and document results clearly and completely.
• Assist with the development of production processes for first-time production runs.
• Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data.
• Build and terminate AC power equipment up to 480VAC.
• Build electrical control panels to NFPA 79 & UL 508A standards.
• Solder and de-solder through-hole and SMT components.
• Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating.
