Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in California is seeking a skilled Infotainment & Telematics ECU Test Engineer to join the Automotive Engineering team in Palo Alto and Irvine. You will perform bench-level testing, validate ECU features, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure high-quality automotive electronic systems.

The role requires hands-on testing, knowledge of CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and experience with test instrumentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform bench-level testing and validation of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs.
• Set up and maintain test benches, validation environments, and lab equipment.
• Develop, execute, and document functional test cases based on system requirements.
• Validate Infotainment features (audio, multimedia, connectivity, navigation, UI).
• Perform Telematics testing including network connectivity and vehicle comms.
• Analyze results, identify defects, and track issues to closure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools.
• Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams; support ECU flashing and software updates.
• Prepare test reports and ensure quality standards.
• Support ECU flashing, software updates, configuration and integration.

The role involves executing functional testing, validating ECU features, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality automotive electronic systems.Your Role:Perform bench-level testing and validation of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs.Set up and maintain test benches, validation environments, and laboratory equipment.Develop, execute, and document functional test cases based on system requirements.Validate Infotainment features such as audio, multimedia, connectivity, navigation, and user interfaces.Perform Telematics testing including network connectivity, communication modules, and vehicle communication systems.Analyze test results, identify defects, and track issues through closure.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using diagnostic and measurement tools.Perform electrical measurements, signal analysis, and fault isolation activities.Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit documentation.Support ECU flashing, software updates, configuration, and integration activities.Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams to drive issue resolution.Support regression testing for software releases and feature enhancements.Prepare test reports, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with quality standards.Collaborate with Hardware, Software, System Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams to resolve technical issues..Your skills and experience:Strong hands-on experience in electronics bench testing / ECU testingGood understanding of Infotainment and Telematics systemsKnowledge of automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)Experience using test instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.)Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagramsBasic knowledge of ECU flashing / diagnostics toolsBasic knowledge of electronics principles.Basic knowledge of Ohm's Law, voltage, current, resistance, and circuit analysis.Ability to identify and understand basic electronic components including: Resistors ; Capacitors ;Inductors ; Diodes; Transistors ; Integrated Circuits (ICs)Experience with HiL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing or test benchesExposure to Infotainment UI/UX testing, audio/video validation, connectivity featuresThe base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 53,580 - 122,400Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws.
