Job summary

Sprague Resources is hiring an Electrician Technician for its Westminster, MA plant. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, and motors, with emphasis on testing, calibration, installation, and preventive upkeep in a 18 MW biomass facility.

The candidate must have a high school diploma, an accredited Electrical Technician Program or 2+ years of related work, and MA licensing.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Completion of an accredited Electrical Technician Program or at least two years of related work experience.
• License to work in Massachusetts required.
• Experience with voltages up to 4160 volts is highly desirable.
• Proficient with power and precision tools.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions in plant equipment operation and maintenance.
• Strong data entry and basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills and good verbal communication.
• Team‑oriented mindset and collaboration skills.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility electrical process, instrumentation, and control equipment for proper operation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems in electrical and instrumentation control systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment including VFDs, motors, and starters.
• Maintain and program the GE Series 6 PLC system.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records for electrical equipment.
• Coordinate and schedule outside contractor work on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Participate in required safety training.
• Install new electrical equipment and systems for plant modifications and upgrades.
• Collaborate with all employees and comply with policies.
