Job summary

GME is seeking an Electrical Technician 2 to install electrical systems in commercial projects under supervision, handling conduit, wiring, panels, and devices. Tasks include conduit bending, wire pulling, panel terminations, and using PPE to ensure safety and quality on site.

We require 3-5 years of field experience, organized work habits, and the ability to communicate material needs to the foreman. A pre-employment background and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience completing project installation of electrical systems in commercial environments.
• Experience working in the field completing assigned tasks and functions.
• Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical systems in new construction, upfits and remodels.
• Measure, bend, thread and install conduit (MC, EMT, rigid raceways, PVC).
• Set up for wire install, pull wire and operate wire tuggers.
• Terminate panels, install devices and cable tray; interpret job drawings.
• Maintain tool cache and communicate material needs to foreman.
• Uphold safety practices and PPE usage.

Purpose and functions of an Electrical Technician 2:

The purpose of this position is to install electrical systems in new construction, upfit and remodel projects. This position will work directly under the supervision of a crew leader or foreman and should require minimal oversight and guidance. Tasks which are expected to be performed include but are not limited to;

• Experience measuring, bending, threading and installing electrical conduit to include MC, EMT, ridged raceways and PVC. Installation to be completed at grade level, elevated heights from ladders and lifts or in ditches as needed
• Properly and efficiently set up for wire install, pulling wire and operating wire tuggers
• Capable of terminating panels, setting fixtures, installing devices, installing cable tray
• Must be well organized, able to work efficiently and demonstrate good time management skills
• Ensure special equipment needs are communicated to the foreman
• Interpret and understand job drawings to facilitate install of electrical system
• Ability to establish material list and ensure material needs are communicated to the foreman
• Ability to achieve the weekly benchmark objectives established by the foreman
• Maintain familiarity with the plans, schedule and expectations for job based upon directives of foreman
• Ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
• Utilize all assigned PPE as appropriate for the hazards encountered
• Maintain a positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication
• Maintain a personal tool cache including hand tools, drill, drivers and all necessary attachments

Education, training and experience:

• 3-5 year's experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
• Experience working in the field completing assigned tasks and functions.
• Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors.
• Associated trade certifications are beneficial but are not required

Physical and Other Requirements of an Electrical Technician 2:

• Must be able to sit, bend, stoop.
• Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demand
