Job summary

GME is seeking an Electrical Technician 2 in Dallas, TX to install electrical systems for commercial projects including new construction, upfits and remodels. You will work under a crew leader, interpret drawings, and manage material needs while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience, are proficient with conduit installation and wire pulling, and can organize tools and work to meet weekly foreman benchmarks.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience installing electrical systems in commercial settings.
• Field experience completing tasks and following directions.
• Trade certifications are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical systems in new construction, upfit and remodel projects under supervision.
• Measure, bend, thread, and install conduit (MC, EMT, ridged raceways, PVC).
• Set up for wire install, pull wire, and operate wire tuggers.
• Terminate panels, install devices and cable trays.
• Maintain safe work practices and PPE use; keep a clean workspace.
• Interpret job drawings and communicate material needs to foreman.

Electrical Technician 2

Job Location: Dallas, TX

Pay Range: $22-$24/hr depending on experience

Purpose and functions of an Electrical Technician 2:

The purpose of this position is to install electrical systems in new construction, upfit and remodel projects. This position will work directly under the supervision of a crew leader or foreman and should require minimal oversight and guidance. Tasks which are expected to be performed include but are not limited to;

• Experience measuring, bending, threading and installing electrical conduit to include MC, EMT, ridged raceways and PVC. Installation to be completed at grade level, elevated heights from ladders and lifts or in ditches as needed
• Properly and efficiently set up for wire install, pulling wire and operating wire tuggers
• Capable of terminating panels, setting fixtures, installing devices, installing cable tray
• Must be well organized, able to work efficiently and demonstrate good time management skills
• Ensure special equipment needs are communicated to the foreman
• Interpret and understand job drawings to facilitate install of electrical system
• Ability to establish material list and ensure material needs are communicated to the foreman
• Ability to achieve the weekly benchmark objectives established by the foreman
• Maintain familiarity with the plans, schedule and expectations for job based upon directives of foreman
• Ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
• Utilize all assigned PPE as appropriate for the hazards encountered
• Maintain a positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication
• Maintain a personal tool cache including hand tools, drill, drivers and all necessary attachments

Education, training and experience:

• 3-5 year's experience completing project installation of electrical systems in the commercial electrical industry.
• Experience working in the field completing assigned tasks and functions.
• Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors.
• Associated trade certifications are beneficial but are not required

Physical and Other Requirements of an Electrical Technician 2:

• Must be able to sit, bend, stoop.
• Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demand
