Job summary

Electric Technician – 1st shift at Eaton in Greenwood, SC. The role starts at $27.00 per hour with a variable incentive program. Core hours are Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–4:00 pm.

You will perform final inspection and functional testing, develop test plans, troubleshoot issues, and document repairs to ensure ship‑ready quality. Candidates must live within fifty miles and read schematics for setup and testing. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of work experience in power distribution or electrical distribution.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection and functional testing of Eaton products prior to shipment.
• Develop and execute test plans; conduct electrical and electronic testing.
• Inspect components and connections across a range of products (structures, panels, controls, assemblies).
• Diagnose issues, document repairs, and verify proper functionality.
• Interpret diagrams, schematics, and instructions to set up, inspect, and test equipment.
• Maintain test equipment calibration status and documentation.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and PPE requirements.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Electrical Technician - 1st shift.The starting rate for this position is $27.00 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am until 4:00 pm.This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:The Electrical Technician is responsible for final inspection and functional testing of Eaton products to ensure quality and compliance prior to shipment. In this role, you will develop and execute test plans, conduct electrical and electronic testing, and inspect components and connections across a wide range of products, including structures, units, panels, panelboards, controls, and assemblies. You will confirm proper functionality, diagnose and resolve issues, and document or complete required repairs. Success in this position requires the ability to accurately interpret diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and engineered test procedures.Interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, drawings, and specifications to set up, inspect, and test equipmentPerform mechanical, electrical, insulation, and sequence testing; inspect panels, assemblies, and components to verify quality and functionalityTroubleshoot test failures, determine root causes, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and supervisory teams on corrective actionsValidate customer orders for accuracy and completeness; support customer inspectors during testing and inspection processesRecommend and assist with improvements to assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing methods; ensure required changes and repairs are completedMaintain test equipment, calibration status, test documentation, and inspection recordsAdhere to all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, hygiene standards, and housekeeping practicesThis job description outlines the general nature and level of work associated with this role and is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities.
