Job summary

The Simplot Company in Pasco, WA seeks an Electrical Technician to work independently, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment in the vegetable processing facility's packaging and processing areas.

You will maintain plant electrical systems, read electrical drawings, install equipment, and support the Instrumentation/PLC team to keep operations safe, efficient and compliant with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years related experience and/or training.
• Good knowledge of computer systems.
• Familiar with automated control systems and able to read and maintain electrical drawings and manuals.
• 2+ years experience in a processing environment.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Ability to work any shift, weekend and overtime if required.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all electrical systems from low voltages to 4160 volt.
• Repairs or replaces electrical devices including but not limited to: breaker panels, motor starters, heaters, fuses, lights, AC drives, motors, electrical switches, etc., in accordance with codes.
• Maintains and troubleshoots VFDs, soft starts, lighting and control circuits.
• Install plant equipment, run conduits, pull wire, install switches and panels as needed.
• Work with electrical meters such as amp clamps and volt meters.
• Assist all other maintenance personnel during major plant breakdowns.
• Assist the Instrumentation/PLC Technician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Electrical Technician works independently troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition within the packaging and processing areas of a vegetable processing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains all electrical systems from low voltages to 4160 volt
• Repairs or replaces all electrical devices including but not limited to: breaker panels, motor starters, heaters, fuses, lights, AC drives, motors, electrical switches, etc., all in accordance with state and federal codes including company policies and procedures
• Maintains and troubleshoots VFDs, soft starts, lighting and control circuits
• Must be able to install plant equipment, run conduits, pull wire, install switches, breaker panels, etc. as needed to supply power to plant electrical apparatus
• Works with electrical meters such as amp clamps, volt meters, analog meters, meggers, etc.
• Must be able to assist all other maintenance personnel in the event of a major plant break down
• Assists the Instrumentation/PLC Technician
• Performs other duties as assigned

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

3+ years related experience and/or training
