Eos Energy is hiring Electrical Technicians to support the assembly and testing of energy cubes and battery systems. Responsibilities include assembling energy cube trays, performing initial testing, inspecting batteries, installing battery management systems, troubleshooting, and energizing/discharging batteries at high voltages.
Responsibilities
- Inspect energy blocks upon receipt for issues.
- Install Battery Management System (BMS) and string boards.
- Perform initial testing following factory acceptance testing (FAT) procedures.
- Use hand and power tools safely for assembly.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and bills of materials.
- Inspect subassemblies and assemblies for defects, using test equipment and visual checks.
- Verify materials and parts against specifications.
- Complete FAT documentation accurately.
- Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical issues.
- Coordinate updates on shift with supervisors.
- Handle energizing and discharging of batteries at 1500 volts or more.
- Monitor data, collect and analyze test results, adjust parameters as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Capability to perform various tasks within the department.
- Experience in training and coaching less experienced staff.
- Good communication skills to relay information effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude with proper tool usage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Safe and correct use of hand and power tools and measurement devices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong inspection skills for sub-assemblies and assemblies.
- Ability to evaluate quality against standards and drawings.
- Extensive troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electronic issues.
Education and Experience
- Electrical Technician Associate: No experience required; associate degree in electrical; demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Electrical Technician Level I: 2+ years electrical experience; associate degree; demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Electrical Technician Level II: 5+ years electrical experience, high voltage experience required, journeyman electrician preferred; associate degree; demonstrated mechanical ability.
