Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years in power plants, industrial facilities, or oil & gas.
  • Experience with 480V through high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background, drug, and safety screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults using drawings, schematics, and testing equipment.
  • Install, repair, and commission motors, transformers, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, and control panels.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure OSHA/NFPA 70E compliance.
  • Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and voltage testing.
  • Calibrate and maintain electrical instrumentation and protective relays.
  • Support plant outages, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders accurately.
  • Work with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Contract Electrical Technician to support maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electrical systems in a power generation facility. The ideal candidate will have experience working with medium- and high-voltage equipment, motors, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and control systems while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults using drawings, schematics, and testing equipment.
  • Install, repair, and commission motors, transformers, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, and control panels.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards.
  • Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, and voltage testing.
  • Calibrate and maintain electrical instrumentation and protective relays.
  • Support plant outages, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders accurately.
  • Work with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in power plants, industrial facilities, or oil & gas.
  • Experience with 480V through high-voltage electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background, drug, and safety screening.
Preferred Skills
  • Relay testing and commissioning.
  • Transformer and switchgear maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Schedule
  • 10–12 hour shifts as required.
  • Overtime and outage work may be required.
  • Contract duration based on project needs.

Strict adherence to OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and all Lockout/Tagout requirements is mandatory.
