Job summary

Central Motor Wheel of America is seeking experienced Electrical Maintenance Technicians to support our manufacturing operations. This role focuses on industrial electrical troubleshooting, automation, controls, equipment reliability, and repair in a highly automated plant environment.

You will diagnose root causes and implement effective fixes to keep lines up and running. Daily duties include reading schematics, wiring, and testing with meters, plus preventive maintenance and collaboration

CMWA is seeking experienced Electrical Maintenance Technicians

to support our manufacturing operations.

This position is focused on industrial electrical troubleshooting, automation, controls, equipment reliability, and repair. We are looking for technicians who can systematically diagnose electrical and controls related problems, determine root causes, and make effective repairs in a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule

This position works a 12-hour, 2-3-2 schedule on one of four dedicated crews.

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

The 2-3-2 schedule provides a predictable rotation

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve electrical and automated manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities include

• Diagnose electrical, controls, and automation-related equipment failures and determine root causes.


• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems using electrical prints, diagnostic tools, and systematic troubleshooting methods.


• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, including inputs, outputs, field devices, communications, and control logic.


• Connect to PLC systems for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and fault identification.


• Troubleshoot variable-frequency drives, motor controls, starters, contactors, relays, power supplies, and associated control circuits.


• Troubleshoot sensors, proximity switches, photoelectric devices, encoders, limit switches, and other industrial field devices.


• Diagnose industrial communication and control-system issues.


• Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, robotics, CNC machinery, and associated control systems.


• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, control drawings, and equipment documentation.


• Use electrical test equipment safely and effectively, including digital multimeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic instruments.


• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance.


• Assist with equipment installations, control-system upgrades, modifications, and continuous-improvement projects.


• Complete assigned preventive maintenance activities and accurately document completed work.


• Work closely with mechanical technicians, production members, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to restore equipment safely and efficiently.


• Identify recurring equipment problems and participate in permanent corrective actions rather than relying on repeated temporary repairs.


• Follow all plant electrical-safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout and applicable electrical safe-work practices.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates should have hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical and automated industrial equipment.

Preferred skills and experience include

• Industrial electrical maintenance, controls, automation, or related manufacturing experience.


• Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.


• Experience with industrial motor controls, VFDs, relays, contactors, sensors, and control circuits.


• Ability to read and troubleshoot from electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.


• Experience safely using electrical diagnostic and test equipment.


• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and automation platforms is preferred.


• Experience with industrial robotics, including FANUC, is a plus.


• Experience with CNC machinery, automated production equipment, industrial networks, or high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus.


• Technical school, apprenticeship, industrial electrical training, or equivalent hands-on experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements
