TechDoQuest in New Carlisle, IN is seeking an experienced Test Technician to support automotive propulsion systems including ICE and EV platforms. You will diagnose electrical systems, read schematics, and assemble test harnesses for prototype and production class 5-8 trucks and buses.

The role requires hands-on use of oscilloscopes, DVMs, and CAN tools, with familiarity in CANalyzer, LabVIEW, and related software. CDL driving ability and safety awareness are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of automotive dealership technician experience including ICE and EV systems.
• Prepare, troubleshoot, inspect, and test class 5-8 trucks and buses.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Prefer experience with Hybrid and EV diagnostics.
• CDL license to drive school bus and heavy truck is helpful.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and verbal/written instructions.
• Electrical harness installation and modification experience.
• Create test harnesses and instrument vehicles for testing.
• Use oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, and current probes for measurements.
• Experience with CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewsoft, LabVIEW for data collection.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Chat.
• Understanding of electrical circuits and components.
• Wiring and soldering skills.

• Use industry-standard mechanic tools to disassemble panels and access components.
• Read, store, and write ECM/ ACM calibrations using Cummins InSite/Cal-Term.
• Read, store, and write TCM calibrations using Allison service tools.
• Follow safety protocols for electric work.

Requirements/Capabilities:

• Five plus years of Automotive Dealership Technician Experience to include ICE and EV Automotive Systems
• Prepare, maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, and tests prototype and current product class 5-8 trucks and buses.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and trouble shooting.
• Preferred experience in both Hybrid and EV vehicle diagnostics.
• CDL license to drive school bus and heavy truck would be most helpful.
• Ability to proficiently work from schematics, diagrams, verbal, and written instructions.
• Responsible for electrical harness installation and modification.
• Create test harnesses and instrument a vehicle for testing.
• Use oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, current probes to make measurements.
• Preferred experience utilizing Vector CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewsoft, and LabView to collect and analyze data.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams Chat.
• Understanding Electrical Circuits and Components
• Wiring and Soldering Skills

Test Tech Experience Request (preferred):

• Must be self-motivated, team player willing to learn new skill sets.
• Must be able to safely setup and lift vehicles using ARI-Hetra Mobile Lift Column Lifts.
• Must be able to use industry standard mechanic tools such as impacts, torque wrenches, power probes, soldering iron, electrical crimping/depinning tools. (Required to pull door panels, seats, headliners, etc....)
• CDL license to drive school bus and heavy truck would be most helpful.
• ASE Certifications would be helpful.
• Experience in a testing environment to include Cold/Hot chamber, dyno, and wind tunnel.
• Use the Cummins InSite/Cal-Term tools to read, store, and write ECM and ACM calibrations.
• Use the Allison service tools to read, store, and write TCM calibrations.
• Knowledge of Safety Protocols for Electric Work
