Job summary

Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) is seeking a maintenance technician in Kennesaw, GA to inspect, repair and maintain electrical, mechanical and life safety systems. The role requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of related experience, with a valid GA driver’s license. Preferred: relevant degree and active certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of related work experience in electrical, mechanical and life safety systems.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Preferred: undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • Preferred certifications: ICC Electrical Inspectors Certification (Active); ICC Electrical Plans Examiner Certification (Active); Electrical Journeyman License State of Georgia (Active).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings, fixtures, machines and other structural and/or mechanical units, noting need for repair, performing minor and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist other technicians on emergency and corrective maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance work including detection and correction of mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems and life safety systems.
  • Work on active systems, energized and de-energized equipment in compliance with NFPA and other regulatory safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Accurately maintain equipment inventory and historical records.
