Job summary

OxyChem in Geismar, LA is seeking an experienced Electrician for our chemical manufacturing facility. You will maintain electrical equipment, perform calibration and preventive maintenance, and support production and engineering teams to ensure safety and high equipment reliability.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma/GED, NCCER certification, at least 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, strong teamwork, safety awareness, and ability to work with PPE; associates degree

Qualifications

• Electrical NCCER certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to effectively function in a team environment and work independently with minimum supervision.
• High safety and environmental awareness; PPE compliance expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of the environment and safety of employees, customers, and communities.
• Perform calibration, repair, and integrity checks of plant electrical equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for plant electrical equipment/instrumentation.
• Provide technical assistance to production and engineering groups on application or modification of electrical equipment/instrumentation.
• Maintain I&E department records and resources to ensure availability and dependability of test equipment, tools, spare parts, and vendor resources.
• Stay informed on current safety, technical, and quality practices and continuously improve.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Electrician within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Geismar, Louisiana.

Essential Job Duties

• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and or transport our products, as our highest priority.
• Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
• Perform calibration, repair, and integrity checks of plant electrical equipment to assure that accuracy, functionality, and reliability are within acceptable limits.
• Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for plant electrical equipment/instrumentation that will assure a high on stream time for equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to production and engineering groups on application of new and modification of existing electrical equipment/instrumentation.
• Maintain, update, report, requisition, and document the I & E department records and resources to assure availability and dependability of test equipment, tools, spare parts, outside repairs, specifications, equipment history, vendor resources, and library resources.
• Continuously improve by staying informed and educated on current safety, technical, and quality practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Electrical NCCER
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance of electrical systems.
• Ability to effectively function and excel in a team environment as well as work independently with minimum supervision.
• High safety and environmental awareness.
• Must be able to properly and safely wear all required PPE such as safety glasses, hard hat, steel toed shoes, respirators, etc

• Associate or equivalent degree from a vocational or technical institute preferred
