Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for a major Fortune 500 metals manufacturer in Davenport, IA. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on industrial equipment, working with PLCs, VFDs, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems in a fast-paced production setting.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with 480V/3-phase systems, reading schematics, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical maintenance or electrical technician experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Experience working with 480V / 3-phase systems.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on industrial production equipment.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, motors, drives, sensors, switches, relays, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC and 3-phase electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical drawings.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures and identify root causes to minimize downtime.
• Support production equipment, material handling systems, and other plant machinery.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and electrical projects.
• Work closely with mechanical maintenance and production teams.
• Follow established electrical safety, LOTO, and plant safety procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues on industrial production equipment
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, motors, drives, sensors, switches, relays, and control systems

What We’re Looking For

• Industrial electrical maintenance or electrical technician experience
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
• Experience working with 480V / 3-phase systems
• Working knowledge of PLCs and VFDs
• Ability to troubleshoot motors, controls, sensors, relays, and electrical components
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot from drawings
• Comfortable working around large industrial equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Metals, automotive, foundry, steel, aluminum, forging, machining, or other heavy manufacturing experience is a plus
