Job summary

Responsibilities

• Install, modify and maintain LV, MV and HV circuits up to 35 kV with minimal supervision.
• Install and terminate cables and electrical devices such as transformers, disconnects, and panels.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits.
• Lead and mentor craft and apprentice personnel.
• Ensure compliance with the NEC and OSHA electrical safety practices.
• Use PPE properly and operate electrical test equipment (VOM, ammeter, megohmmeter, hipot).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Installation and modification of electrical control systems.
• Installation and termination of single and multiple conductor cables.
• Installation of electrical devices such as light fixtures, transformers, disconnects, motor starters, distribution panels and start/stop stations.
• Test, trouble shoot and repair electrical circuits.
• Ability to lead and mentor craft and apprentice personnel.
• Safely use electrical test equipment such as a volt-ohm meter, amp meter, megohmmeter and Hy-Pot.
• Safe operation of hand and power tools such as band saws, drills, conduit threaders, hole punches and wire tuggers.
• Understanding and teaching capability in regard to properly packing and pouring seals.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices
• Knowledge of use, limitations and maintenance of all Personal Protective Equipment required for the assigned work.
• Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with working form elevated work areas and personnel lift equipment.
• Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with the assigned work including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Emergency Action Plans, Safe Work Permits, Incident Reporting, and Hazcom procedures.
