Job summary

Ardent Services, LLC in Louisiana is seeking an Electrical Helper to support Electricians in installing conduits, raceway systems, and basic devices on industrial projects. This role requires adherence to safety practices and supervision.

Candidates must have basic electrical knowledge and a valid TWIC card; involvement includes using hand and power tools, maintaining PPE, and supporting site crews to ensure timely installations.

Qualifications

• Must have valid TWIC card.
• Ability to assist Electricians with conduit and raceway installation.
• Understand electrical safety practices and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of electrical raceway systems (rigid aluminum, galvanized steel, PVC, and fiberglass trays).
• Assist in installing electrical devices such as light fixtures and start/stop stations.
• Operate hand and power tools safely (band saws, drills, conduit benders, punches).
• Assist Electrician in bending conduit using various benders.
• Assist in pulling conductors and wiring installations.
• Adhere to OSHA electrical safe work practices and PPE requirements.
• Recognize hazards, maintain safe work procedures especially at heights and with lift equipment.

An Electrical Helper must have the knowledge and skills to assist Electricians in installing conduits and raceway systems and certain devices. Must work under constant supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the Installation of electrical raceway systems comprised of rigid aluminum, galvanized steel, PVC and PVC coated conduit and aluminum, galvanized steel and fiberglass cable tray.


• Installation of electrical devices such as light fixtures and start/stop stations.


• Safe operation of hand and power tools such as band saws, drills, conduit threaders, hole punches and wire tuggers.


• Assist an Electrician in bending conduit using manual, mechanical, hydraulic and electric conduit benders.


• Assist in installing electrical conductors (cable pulling).


• Properly pack and pour seals.


• Knowledge of OSHA Electrical Safe Work Practices as it pertains to a Electrical helper duties.


• Knowledge of use, limitations and maintenance of all Personal Protective Equipment required for the assigned work.


• Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with working form elevated work areas and personnel lift equipment.


• Knowledge of hazards and safe work procedures associated with the assigned work including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Emergency Action Plans, Safe Work Permits, Incident Reporting, and Hazcom procedures.
