Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Electrical Construction Technical Services Lead to be based in Baton Rouge, stationed at the St. Francisville project in Louisiana.

You will lead technical resolution of issues, discrepancies, and disputes related to drawings and specifications on world-class data center projects. The role requires mentoring a team, coordinating with home office engineers, and engaging authorities having jurisdiction, with strong electrical engineering and heavy‑industrial construction

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering or 15–20 years in heavy‑industrial construction management including life sciences and datacenters.
• Understanding of construction‑oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with certified technical training.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate responses from home office engineering and client representatives to meet project needs.
• Provide on‑site technical support interpreting released documents, specifications, and drawings and contribute to change management.
• Engage with AHJs during permitting and work with design‑build contractors in the field.
• Lead construction document management and supervise document control activities.
• Act as technically competent lead in responses to deviation requests within approved processes.
• Collaborate with field quality, contractor, and home office to resolve nonconformities (NCRs).
• Mentor and guide the team toward objectives.

You will be at the forefront of technology infrastructure development, gaining valuable insights into the intricate systems that power our digital world. As a Sr. Electrical Construction Technical Services Lead, you will lead and guide technical resolution of issues, discrepancies, and disputes related to drawings and specifications.

You will be based out of our Baton Rouge office, but stationed at our project in St. Francisville, LA.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications.
• Clarify and, when required, expedite home office/responsible engineer(s) response to meet project needs in a timely manner.
• Ensure liaison with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on‑site technical support in interpretation of engineering released documents, specifications, and drawings, including input to the change management process within your technical expertise.
• Engage in the permitting process and with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
• Work with design‑build contractors once their efforts move to the field.
• Effectively communicate with subcontractors, leading to receipt and management of all key drawings and documents in a revision‑controlled manner.
• Lead the construction document management process, providing oversight and guidance through a construction document control lead.
• Act as technically competent lead in response to contractor or other party requests for specification deviation in work or work product, working within the project‑approved spec deviation process.
• Work with field quality, contractor, and home office engineering to resolve nonconformities (NCRs).
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your team toward meeting these objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience working in electrical engineering or 15–20 years’ experience in construction management for heavy‑industrial process facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• Understanding of construction‑oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings.

Salary Range

The base salary range for this position is $114,400.00 to $157,200.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
