Job summary

Fresh Consulting is partnering with an AI Defense company in Costa Mesa, CA to hire an Electrical System Test Engineer. You will build test systems, define cable harnesses, and work with SW/FW to enable test modes and telemetry for development and EMC validation.

You will read schematics, develop automation in Python, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems teams to ensure on-time delivery and robust test documentation. Eligibility for a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with designing electrical harnessing for rugged commercial, industrial, aerospace, or military applications.
• Familiarity with common electrical bus interfaces
• Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad)
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable harness drawings.
• Write and maintain automation scripts in Python to support data acquisition, test execution, and data post-processing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers to develop comprehensive test plans and procedures.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SW/FW for test modes, stimulation, and telemetry.
• Configure and verify DUT operating modes prior to and during EMC testing.
• Develop and maintain test setup and configuration documentation.
• Track and drive on-time delivery of test hardware, fixtures, and support equipment to the EMC team.
• Proactively manage the test schedule based on hardware availability, coordinate across disciplines, and remove blockers to eliminate dead time.
• Maintain real-time visibility into schedule risks and keep milestones on track.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify issues and drive design choices.
• Conduct root cause analysis in support of vehicle integration and field operations.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $75/hr – $85/hr.
