Job summary

The Toro Company invites students to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program in Bloomington, IN, from May 17 to August 6, 2027, starting May 17. You will work with an electrical engineering team on golf, sports fields, and siteworks systems, gaining hands-on experience with motors, controllers, batteries, switches, and sensors under supervision.

Duties include evaluating components, creating harnesses, reading schematics, and diagnosing CANbus data.

Qualifications

• Majoring in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Entering Junior or Senior year strongly preferred.
• Hardworking, energetic, and eager to learn, collaborate, and effectively communicate in team environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); additional engineering software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reading electrical schematics.
• Experience interfacing with CANbus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical components and perform basic integration tests in a lab.
• Create and modify prototype electrical harnesses.
• Work with CANbus data to diagnose issues or evaluate machine performance.
• Read and interpret machine electrical schematics to assist troubleshooting.
• Work cross-functionally to diagnose machine issues or evaluate designs.
• Work with component vendors to evaluate application fit and verify component specifications.
