Job summary

CAF USA in Elmira Heights, NY is seeking an Electrical Assembler to perform skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in rail cars. The role requires installing and servicing lighting, panels, outlets, and wiring, with the ability to read circuit diagrams and blueprints and transfer power between sources.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or technical training and at least two years of related experience.

• Two or more years of related experience.
• High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and wiring.
• Reads electrical circuit diagrams and blueprints.
• Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
• Installs conductors, splices cable, builds terminations and does necessary hookup for primary power source.
• May do other trades work incidental to electrical work.
• Capable of process improvement.
• Collaborate with management any issues that may arise with project.
