Job summary

The Kinetic Group is seeking an Electrical Systems and Controls Engineer in Lonoke, Arkansas to design, implement, and support automation for plant equipment and processes. You will program PLCs, design electrical systems, and coordinate installation, testing, and training to improve efficiency and safety.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (or related field) with 5+ years in manufacturing automation, strong AutoCAD/ETAP skills, and familiarity with NEC/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; 4+ years in electrical engineering under supervision.
  • 5+ years developing and supporting custom manufacturing solutions using Allen Bradley programming software; familiarity with Bosch and others.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP, Excel; capable of NEC and OSHA standards in industrial electrical design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or support project details for new equipment, major repairs, and machinery upgrades.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical systems for the manufacturing plant.
  • Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing to meet specifications and codes.
  • Oversee electrical project efforts to ensure on-time, within-budget completion.
  • Inspect installations and observe operations for conformance to design and safety standards.
  • Confer with engineers and management to discuss projects and develop proof-of-concept applications.
  • Plan and implement research methodologies applying electrical theory to projects.
  • Work on scalable technologies for multiple facilities.
  • Train electrical team members and troubleshoot production line equipment.

We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world. Today, The Kinetic Group is a part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which holds a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aerospace and rail industries.

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Systems and Controls Engineer is to develop, implement, and support technology to improve equipment, processes, and products. This is accomplished by design requirements, specifications, drawings, procure necessary materials and services, coordinate installation and training for systems including new automation solutions. Will provide expertise in programming and designing PLC controls and interfaces for new equipment and processes. Effectively communicate with team members at all levels of the organization to improve our workplace and customer experience. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Special Projects and will be based out of our Lonoke, Arkansas office.

What you’ll do
  • Develop or support of project details for new equipment, major repairs, and machinery upgrades.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, and systems for the manufacturing plant.
  • Direct and help coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, and codes.
  • Oversee electrical project efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Confer with engineers, management, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects to develop and trial proof of concept applications.
  • Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Work on strategic technologies that are scalable and can be implemented at multiple facilities.
  • Train electrical team members as necessary. This will include troubleshooting equipment failures on production lines to help create solutions.
Experience you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field of study, or Associates degree in a related field of study with at least 4 years’ experience under the direction of an Electrical Engineer.
  • Five or more years’ experience in developing and supporting custom manufacturing solutions using Allen Bradley programming software, as well as being familiar with Bosch, and others.
  • Proficient in standard engineering design and office software (AutoCAD, ETAP, Excel, etc.).
  • Experienced in designing new electrical systems used in an industrial facility including NEC and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to analyze and correct complex problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to create instructions and convey ideas to others using drawings, sketches, orally, and written proposals.
  • Familiar with mechanical principles and how they interact with electrical control systems.
  • Skilled in the use of HMI devices and creating interfaces between the control system of equipment and the employees that will interact with it.
  • Possess the understanding of typical methods used to control manufacturing equipment and be able to apply these principles.
You might have
  • Experience with servo, robotics, SCADA, lasers, camera and vision systems along with and other developed technologies.
  • Hazard analysis, FMEA, machine guarding risk analysis.
  • Familiar with Asset Center.
Work Environment

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range

$79,700.00 - $111,800.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. We offer a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits including:
