Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company on-site at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant seeks a Construction Electrical Supervisor (Contract) to lead crews and ensure safe, timely execution of electrical work. The role requires nuclear electrician experience and passing background checks for a clean-room environment.

You will be responsible for planning, staging materials, reviewing drawings, and coordinating with EPC and site engineering while maintaining strong safety practices and quality control throughout

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ yrs as a construction electrical supervisor experience.
• Nuclear Electrician experience 5+ years.
• Nuclear background check, drug screen, and nuclear site badge required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise scopes of work to be executed on schedule.
• Lead crews to ensure safe, error-free work on site.
• Review constructability and provide feedback to engineering design.
• Coordinate RFIs with EPC and site engineering teams.
• Inspect installed equipment for compliance with scope and specs.
• Report progress, quality control and safety metrics regularly.

Construction Electrical Supervisor - Contract

Surry, VA - Nuclear Plant

You will work on site at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant

Your Day-to-Day:

• Ensure scopes of work are properly planned, reviewed and executed in a timely manner
• Look ahead at upcoming work and provide input to the design as necessary to resolve issues
• P6 schedule reviews and provide input to durations, logic and status updates
• Lead and manage crews to ensure work is being carried out safe and error free
• Layout Project work and assure readiness
• Perform constructability review/walkdown of engineering design documents and provide feedback for correction to the design.
• Review and stage materials to support the 6 week schedule look ahead.
• To understand all drawings, contract documents, and quality documentation.
• To work collaboratively in a TEAM environment and interface with site CM, PM and direct reports
• To verify that all drawings, submittals, and specifications are accurate.
• Reports daily, weekly and monthly on progress, quality control and safety
• Facilitates the Request for Information (RFI) process with the EPC and site engineering.
• Perform inspections of equipment being installed to verify it's done correctly and per the scope of work and specifications.
• Review project completion documentation.
• Interfaces with project's designated safety, engineering and quality control parties
• Help facilitate field commissioning and turnover.
• To create good relationships with the EPC and others on site.
• To ensure that safety is the number one priority on all sites.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ yrs as a construction electrical supervisor experience.
• Nuclear Electrician experience 5+ years
• You will pass the nuclear background, drug screen and a nuclear site red badge.

• Experience in new construction and maintenance modifications
  • Problem Solving
  • Scheduling to include creating logic ties
  • Installation of Conduit and Supports
  • Installation of copper and fiber cables
  • Cable terminations and modifications
  • Installation of power and control panels/ switch gear
  • You will use a multi meter to include Live-Dead-Live
  • Raychem splicing of low voltage
  • Electrical safe work practices
  • Clearance order verifications
  • Temporary power installation
  • Experience in nuclear power as JM electrician
