Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in Newberry, FL is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to optimize and maintain plant electrical and instrumentation systems while supporting preventive maintenance programs.

You will provide technical leadership, coordinate upgrades, manage budgets and KPIs, ensure safety compliance, and work with IT and operations to keep the cement plant running reliably.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial process systems or equivalent education.
  • Electrical aptitude and ability to lead teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and written English.
  • Ability to perform in a 24/7 plant operations environment.
  • Preferred: two-year technical degree or equivalent program.

  • Optimize and maintain instruments and electrical systems for reliability.
  • Maintain plant electrical standards.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate routine contract work and cost controls.
  • Perform post-installation inspections.

Job description

We are looking for a Electrical Supervisor to join our team in Newberry, FL. As an Electrical Supervisor with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining plant electrical and instrumentation systems, supporting preventative maintenance programs, and providing technical expertise to help ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for optimizing and maintaining instruments, ensuring proper utilization and reliability.
  • Maintain plant electrical standards.
  • Promote new upgrades and features to assist plant performance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining plant reports.
  • Assist in design, monitor and actively act upon preventative maintenance programs.
  • Initiates, authorizes, and schedules routine contract work and is responsible for ensuring administrative functions for appropriate cost control are in place, such as providing the scope of work to the vendor and approving purchase order requisitions and maintaining a cost control spread sheet for budget control purposes.
  • Perform follow-up inspections post repair and/or new installations of equipment.
  • Assists in ensuring conformance with Automation, IT, and corporate guidelines.
  • Provide technical expertise in specific areas of the cement plant, communicating effectively to various levels.
  • Assists in ensuring the entering of new equipment numbers and ensures the updating of equipment parts catalog.
  • Assists in the budgeting process, providing advice in planning and scheduling of major of more costly electrical activities.
  • Generate maintenance KPIs which measure the effectiveness of the electrical roles. Publishes the maintenance KPIs monthly, analyzes them and suggests ways to improve performance.
  • Responsible for all housekeeping and organization of all electrical substations and maintenance shops.
  • Ensure proactive electrical analysis is present at process, coordination, and reliability meetings.
  • Remain active and knowledgeable in current safety regulations and guidelines, promoting overall plant safety. This includes implementing and managing the Quikrete Safety Program.
About You
We Require
  • 5 or more years' experience in industrial process systems or education equivalency.
  • Electrical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written English required.
  • Must be able and willing to perform as a team member and within a team environment.
  • Possess solid leadership skills.
  • Be a motivated, self-starter, proactive and action oriented by character.
  • Ability to meet on-call responsibilities associated with a 24/7 plant operation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings to include physical, background check, and drug screen.
  • Preferred: Post secondary level education from a two-year college, technical school, or equivalent program.
  • Proven background in a similar role within a cement / production-oriented environment.
