Job description

Electrical Supervisor - Solar PV & Substations

Location: Newbern, AL (100% On-Site; commutable from Tuscaloosa or RV/camper friendly)

Target Start Date: Immediate (Mid-October)

The Opportunity We are actively seeking a hands‑on Electrical Supervisor for an urgent, utility‑scale solar project in New Bern, Alabama. This is a critical field‑leadership role for a builder who understands the realities of rural site work and has a strong foundation in Quality Control (QC) for PV arrays. You do not need to be an absolute substation guru, but you must have a solid baseline of electrical inspection experience on the PV side and the technical aptitude to confidently interpret complex engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Supervision: Oversee daily on‑site electrical execution, ensuring all installations align with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Quality Control (QC): Lead electrical inspections across the PV array and provide critical oversight for substation tie‑ins.
  • Technical Translation: Actively review, interpret, and execute electrical drawings, translating schematics into actionable field directives for the crews.
  • Schedule Adherence: Drive a strict 7-day-a-week project schedule, maintaining momentum and resolving field‑level electrical issues before they cause delays.
The Non‑Negotiables for the Electrical Supervisor
  • Experience: Approximately 5 years of proven, on‑ground electrical construction experience.
  • Domain Expertise: Must have strong Quality Control (QC) and electrical inspection experience specifically within utility‑scale Solar PV. Previous exposure to substation work is highly desired.
  • Education: A high school diploma is strictly required. While a college degree is welcomed, hard field experience and practical capability are valued significantly more.
  • Regional Alignment: Candidates currently residing in the Southeast (Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee) or those highly familiar with the regional working environment and culture are strongly preferred.
Compensation & Project Details for the Electrical Supervisor
  • Base Salary: $105,000 – $120,000 (flexibility for the perfect fit).
  • Per Diem: A comprehensive 7-day-a-week per diem provided to support local living expenses.
  • Travel/Relocation Support: Mileage reimbursement to the site, plus an initial lump sum (e.g., $1,000) included in the first paycheck to assist with immediate relocation costs.
