Job description

Overview

Electrical Maintenance Supervisor at the University of South Carolina – Housing Facilities (Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support). This role provides leadership to the electrical team, assigns work orders in the campus CMMS, oversees preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, and collaborates with Shared Services IT, campus Security, and FIXX as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, assess and schedule work assignments using industry work standards
  • Supervise, train, monitor, and evaluate electricians and other staff
  • Develop, implement and oversee preventative maintenance on critical electrical equipment, controls and distribution panels
  • Identify and direct the repair and installation of electronic and electromechanical equipment
  • Manage, assign, verify accuracy and completion of shop work orders in AssetWorks AiM
  • Plan and oversee small electrical projects
  • Provide technical support to other departments on campus
Qualifications
  • Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience: Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program and 4 or more years of job related experience (may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience).
  • Preferred Qualifications: State electrical license, completion of qualified electrical apprenticeship and/or two-year electrical technical degree; variable work schedule; evenings and weekends may be required; essential personnel during inclement weather and emergencies.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of safety practices in maintenance and electrical fields; ability to read blueprints, plans and specifications; proficiency with Microsoft Office, timesheet systems; ability to supervise staff and communicate effectively; ability to perform heavy manual labor.
