Job summary

Client is seeking an Electrical Supervising Engineer to lead a team of Controls engineers and designers, providing continuous on-site support for a nuclear plant in the Detroit/Chicago/Toledo area.

The role requires an PE license, extensive nuclear I&C design experience, and strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors on multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year university.
  • 8+ years overall experience in design electrical and I&C systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical and I&C system design for nuclear plants in North America.
  • Familiarity with the nuclear standard design process, and experience preparing engineering drawings including wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, EPRI, ISA and IAEA Codes and Standards and NRC Reg Guides relating to nuclear plant licensing and design.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to interface with other project team members including other disciplines, client, contractors and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, and analysis to support the design and configuration control process.
  • Specifications include transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS/DC, communication systems, digital and process instrumentation and controls components.
  • Calculations include electrical studies such as short circuit, voltage drop, coordination and arc flash using OTI-ETAP.
  • Produce electrical/I&C design documents: single line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, wiring diagrams, raceway drawings, lighting and grounding plans, cable schedules.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineers and designers for the Electrical/I&C discipline and monitor budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other project team members on multiple projects.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in any state in the U.S. with ability to obtain licensure in other states by comity.

  • Candidate will support multiple projects and will coordinate activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other members of the project teams.
