JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

SUPERINTENDENT FAMILY - CORE

  • Lead all aspects of the company’s safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigate safety incidents and retrain staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for a small project or a major portion of a larger project.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage the care, custody, and control of the project site.
  • Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Attend and participate in progress and project OAC meetings.
  • Create, manage, and adjust the project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor project budget and costs using project management system’s reports and data from the project manager.
  • Communicate key project information to owners, design team, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Follow project filing and documentation procedures. Update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
  • Approve and record unit cost information for weekly reports; complete daily and tracking reports.
  • Evaluate progress on self-perform work and adjust as needed.
  • Manage material and equipment needs.
  • Support procurement and approval processes for materials and logistics.
  • Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment for self-perform operations.
  • Manage timecard approval for accurate hours and cost codes.
  • Ensure quality compliance via specifications, standards, QA/QC, and outside resources.
  • Support project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Understand project pursuit processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in project pre-planning and adjust throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish field staffing in collaboration with field leadership.
  • Identify and manage project schedule and cost changes.
  • Negotiate project changes with owner and architect.
  • Prepare and present for project reviews and key meetings.
  • Participate in subcontractor and vendor buyout meetings.
  • Understand and apply contractual terms and conditions.
  • Identify and recruit top talent.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn, ensuring policy implementation.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will be responsible for managing complex stand-alone projects from start to finish, including scheduling, safety, quality, and risk management. Participate in project pursuits and negotiations for project changes.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years construction experience.
  • At least 3 years of field supervision experience.
  • Experience with Lean principles preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and in extreme conditions.
