Job summary

The Stellar Group in Jacksonville, FL is hiring an Electrical Superintendent to lead installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across diverse sites. You will manage field crews, coordinate with project managers, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

This role requires 5+ years in electrical field services, OSHA 30 certification, strong leadership, and ability to read schematics. Extensive travel to project sites nationwide is expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in electrical field services or a similar role.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification is required.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in various settings.
  • Ensure projects meet safety and quality standards within budget and timeline.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise multiple work crews and all assigned employees.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines to optimize efficiency.
  • Create daily reports, track progress, and submit timesheets.
  • Inspect and verify progress, ensuring productivity and safety.
  • Interpret drawings and ensure proper wiring.
  • Manage field crews and coordinate with project managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in various settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role involves managing field crews, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. The Superintendent must be adept at troubleshooting complex electrical issues and providing technical guidance to the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in various settings
  • Ensure that projects meet established safety and quality standards within the allocated budget and timeline
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise multiple work crews and all assigned employees on those teams
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines on the job to ensure that all work is handled as efficiently as possible
  • Create daily reports, track progress, submit timesheets, and complete other administrative duties as required to accurately track performance and progress
  • Inspect and verify work in progress and ensure that all employees and subcontractors are working productively and safely
  • Interpret drawings accurately and ensure that all wiring is installed properly
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Manage field crews and coordinate with project managers

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and equipment
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety regulations
  • Proficiency with relevant project management software and tools
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook)
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical field services or a similar role
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects successfully
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance protocols, and safety standards
  • Experience in project management and implementation of electrical systems
  • Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure
Travel Requirements:
  • Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwide
  • Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and events.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds
  • Adequate vision to perform all required tasks
  • Work on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops
  • Comfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safely
  • Strong sense of balance and spatial awareness
  • Participate in respiratory fit testing and use as required
