Job summary

Morgan Corp. Industrial Division is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead all electrical activities on projects in the Southeast, based in Columbia, SC.

This role requires coordinating trades, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance while communicating with owner field representatives. You will supervise craft teams, develop work plans, perform material takeoffs, manage schedules and labor, supervise subcontractors, and ensure code compliance (NEC).

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of electrical construction experience.
  • 5 years of foreman experience.
  • Strong NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E knowledge.
  • Experience managing large-scale industrial electrical projects from planning through commissioning.
  • Proficiency with MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, switchgear, substations, and power distribution systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple crews while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Troubleshooting, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • In-depth knowledge of power systems up to 6000v (15kv preferred), control systems, grounding.

  • Good understanding of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Motivate, supervise, and direct craft to meet work goals.
  • Support weekly schedule updates and labor hour projections.
  • Daily labor and equipment entry for all crews.
  • Author and submit daily reports.
  • Role in hiring and evaluating employees.
  • Evaluate skill levels and coordinate training for employees.
  • Perform routine safety, environmental, and quality inspections.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Coordinate subcontractor needs and implementation.
  • Supervise electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Perform material takeoffs.
  • Ensure material orders and deliveries meet construction schedule.
  • Ensure adequate inventory for planned work.
  • Comply with local and NEC electrical codes.

Description

The Morgan Corp. Industrial Division is an industrial contractor that self-performs all major trades in industrial markets (power, water/wastewater, water infrastructure, mining, etc.) throughout the Southeast. We pride ourselves on performing quality work safely by developing and executing the best plan.

We are currently seeking an experienced industrial Electrical Superintendent.

The electrical superintendent plans, coordinates, and leads all activities for their trade and may require managing some work for other trades, including specialty subcontractors (such as fire detection, lightning protection) required for the successful completion of the project. This position must also be able to handle daily communication with the owner’s field representatives, implement all safety and environmental requirements for the project, as well as be able to implement required quality control measures for all electrical activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Working with the project team to develop and implement work plans for the Foreman and craft teams to perform.
  • Have a good understanding of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Motivate, supervise, and direct craft to meet work goals.

  • Play a role in hiring and evaluating employees.

  • Supervise electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair as needed.

  • Comply with local and NEC electrical codes
  • Possess and implement Morgan Corp.’s social contract.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 10+ years of electrical construction work
  • 5 years of foreman experience
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA regulations, and NFPA 70E standards
  • Experience managing large-scale industrial electrical projects from planning through commissioning
  • Proficiency with MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, switchgear, substations, and power distribution systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple crews while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule objectives
  • Troubleshooting, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • In-depth knowledge of:
